Our photos tell stories that represent each couple or family. Our style can be described as photojournalistic, emotive, heartfelt, elevated, and timeless.
They are reminiscent of a calming day at the beach. You will find that when you go back to look at your photos later on, it will bring back all the joy, relaxation, and peace about your special day or time in the Outer Banks.
We like to maintain colors, keep whites pure, add warmth, + soften the image without losing the details.

Fill out a contact form with all the requested information (Don't leave anything blank if you can help it). Then I will get back with you as soon as we are able to. I check emails Monday through Friday. If you email late Friday or over the weekend, you can expect a response the following week.

Step 1
We will decide on a date, time, and location that works for both of us. If Katie is unavailable, you may be assigned an associate photographer. You will be made aware of who will be photographing your session. Once we have all the details figured out, I will put together a contract and invoice proposal for your project. To book your date, I require a $1000 retainer fee for weddings and a 50% retainer for other sessions. This is required to secure your spot and is non-refundable.

Step 2
You can begin thinking about what you want to wear, if you need assistance with coordinating your outfits, reach out to me and I will send you my style guide. Think about if there are any props you may want to bring (I don't provide props unless it is a special styled or holiday session). You can take time to look up any ideas you may want for specific photos, but if you don't it is no problem, as I have plenty of great ideas/prompts/poses.

Step 3
For weddings, we will be in touch through the whole process. I will receive your day of timeline from either you or your wedding planner. You will receive a month of questionnaire so that we can be well prepared for your day. I will then prepare my custom photography-specific timeline (always in line with your timeline of course). We will go over any final requests you might have. I will arrive on your wedding day ready to roll and you don't have to worry about a thing!
For sessions, your lead photographer will touch base via text the day of your session to confirm time and location. You will meet at the location, go over the game plan, and start shooting! From that point they will take the lead, and you can just relax and follow our direction. We don't leave you feeling awkward and unsure of what to do, so you can just trust us to guide you through the process & before you know it, we will be done! And remember: HAVE FUN!

Step 4
Katie does all the editing to keep a consistent style for all photos. Your turnaround time depends on the project. Sessions are generally 3-4 weeks. Weddings are anywhere from 6-8 weeks depending on the size of the wedding and number of hours photographed. I generally send out sneak peeks soon after a wedding day, then the remaining within the specified turnaround time. I begin by backing up all the photos to multiple hard drives. Then I cull through all the photos, selecting the best ones to edit. Once I finish editing, I export the photos and begin creating your personalized gallery.
I edit & prepare your images
Step 5
Katie uploads the final edited images to your personalized online gallery. She will then share it with you as well as a personal download pin. You can use this to download your photos all at once to a desktop or laptop computer, or one at a time to your mobile or smartphone device. Please do not screenshot or put filters over photos, as it takes away from the quality.
